SNOW DAY 2017

A magical thing happened in the Texas hill country last night + this morning... SNOW!!! It's only snowed twice in my life here in Texas, once when I was about 3 and then again about 10 years ago. It came out of the blue after having beautiful 70 degree weather for weeks, in true Texas fashion. We took a drive through the hill country this morning. It felt like the excitement of Christmas morning when you are a little kid. James couldn't sleep last night and he couldn't wait for Ava and I to wake up, then we couldn't eat our toast fast enough so we could get out the door before it all melted away. My heart is seriously filled up so full with wonderment + magic. It's amazing what nature can do! To many people, this is an every year occurrence, but when you never get to experience real seasons where you live, it's pure magic!

I had bought this coat for Ava last year b/c it was half off, but I didn't know if she would actually end up needing it b/c... Texas. It was so exciting to be able to bust it out of the closet!!! She wasn't too thrilled with the idea of snow and didn't want out of our arms for the most part, but she was a trooper. It meant alot to me just to see her in it. I have a photo of my dad feeding me snow when I was just a bit bigger than her, so when the photo of James giving her snow happened naturally, that memory came flooding back in. Pure sweetness. My mama heart is full.
