As soon as the wildflowers started popping up this spring I began getting excited about taking Ava to find some bluebonnets for photos. It's kind of a traditional thing to do as a Texan. I have the cutest photo of my brother and I in a field of bluebonnets that I treasure. I know if my mom were alive she would be so excited about these.
We drove out to our favorite little spot in the hill country, Willow City and drove the loop. We were a few weeks early for the billowing fields of color, but we managed to find a few patches where you could pull over and take some photos. I wasn't sure how they were going to come out b/c it was high noon and a horrible time for photos, but I found a patch of shade and they came out so lovely.
It was just one of those really good days. We risked leaving early before Ava napped and hoped that she would nap in the car on the way there and she did the whole way! The drive is beautiful and it was a gorgeous day. We had lunch in Fredricksburg and Ava didn't fuss at all. Then she napped the whole way home. It was such a wonderful little break from taxes and to-do's. And how adorable does she look in her little Bohemian Soul Creations dress???
These last two were our failed attempts at family selfies, ha ha. But I love them. Happy Spring yall!
